Welcome to the board! I believe the black top is a cloth looking type material and from what I see there is a company called Haartz that sells a cleaner and a treatment for the tops. In your owners manual should be a section on convertible top cleaning and care and does list the GM part #'s for their recommended products. [Smile]

yep I have used a couple different brands of cleaners and protectors. The last time I bought Raggtopp from Afterthoughts Auto . It works pretty well and keeps the top looking new and water repellant. I also use dish soap when I run out of cleaner and it works well. It also doesn't contain any polish or wax like the Zaino carwash.

Welcome! [Big Grin]

I've been using the Raggtop cleaner and protectant I got from AfterThoughts Auto a few months ago. The cleaner seemed to work well, although my top is new. The real purpose was to make sure it was really clean before spraying on the protectant. Now water beads up on the top just like on the rest of the car.

At a recent car show (the only one I've put the SS LE in yet) it was considered a "Wash and Show" so the cars were judged on how clean they were. They had us put up our tops and windows for the judging. I heard one judge remark about how it is hard to get a top looking that good. Gotta love hearing that. [Big Grin] [Cool]

Anyway, the Raggtop products seem to work really well.

Welcome to the club!

Not to side-track this discussion, but I wasn't aware that Formulas were offered in converts in '98 & up? Although there WERE 2 special-built WS6 Formula 'verts in '98. Your's wouldn't happen to be ONE of those, would it?? If so, PLEASE, details / pics / info!!
