I'm seeking guidance regarding roll bar designs and installers. Nhra rules indicate that at least a five point is required in verts with speeds of 13.99 or quicker in the quarter mile. I'm now breaking into the high 12s and expect to reach even better times based upon my self designed performance program. I am espescially intriqued by a feature I saw at the track last friday eve., the bar on the drivers side swung out and could be made removable.

I'm located in southeastern PA and would like to find a knowledgable craftsman for the installation and certification. Thanks in advance for any help, suggestions or phone numbers/websites

Wolfe Racecraft makes a bar for our 'verts. I don't have one .... yet.

I have a swing out bar on my ride. My advice would be to get a Wolfe cage though I had mine made locally I wish I didn't. There was a problem and it was a pain.

If you have a 95 prior F-body ....AVOID Wolfe racecraft like the plague . I have sent my bar back 3 times and the main hoop still isnt close to fitting [Mad]

So if the Wolfe bar doesn't fit 95 year cars, who else makes a weld in kit in the same price range?

Does anyone know if this problem affects 97 Camaro's?

Anyone here with a '97 and a Wolfe Bar?

I read somewhere that the stamps they use to make the floors have changed over the years and the later f-bodies are actually bigger because of it. That's why cages built on their jigs(based on late model) don't fit in earlier cars. Sounds plausible...

Hi,

For the rollbars, I suggest you take a look at companies close to where you live that can build custom rollbars... some places can offer you good deals... also note that the Wolfe rollbar will make your backseats almost unusable, since the bar goes directly in the middle of each sitting position and cuts goes forward at a small angle instead of going up... so beware of head-banging !
Also note that if you want NHRA approved, do not take the removable-crossbar option.

As for the person asking for non-NHRA rollbar, RK-sport makes one strictly for looks, no structural support is behind it... so don't expect it to help you on a crash... you can always purchase the hoop directly from Wolfe, painted black... it will at least help you somewhat in case of a roll-over... hope you never get to test it, though
