I want more room for my subwoofer and amps, the only place I can think of that will work perfectl is in the spare tire wheel space. I want to keep my backseat since I have people back there often, so I was thinking of placing the spare under the trunk, I have true duals that stop before the axle so I think I have enough room where the old muffler went or maybe under the gas tank. I still have to go under the car and check out the space, I've been waiting for it to stop snowing. Anyway is there any problems that I am overlooking. I know trucks have them mounted underneath, I will make a cover out of thin steel so as to keep it concealed so it won't be an eyesore.

Would ground clearance be a problem? I just yanked my spare out, since I lost the mounting screw that holds it in. [Embarrassed]

Flying blind by the seat of my pants, and my trusty can of fix-a-flat.

So would that make me have the !spare delete?

Nope. Just !spare [Smile]

In response to the other question that may be a solution if there's enough room front to back for the spare. I'd think width & depth would be okay. Coming up with a secure mount that allows you to actually access the spare when you need it may pose a challenge.

You could always just join AAA or another auto club that comes to you if you have a problem. That way you wouldn't need a spare tire at all. (better make sure it isn't required in the fine print for roadside flat assistance, however).

Just a thought.

...... OR... you could checkout my custom sub-box that not only works great, but doesn't take up any useable space in the trunk or make you move the spare. There's a link in my sig.....
