I have a 96 convertible I would like to know if anyone has cut the rear coil springs I would like to lower the rear 1 1/2 inches ,this will put the rear1/2 inch lower than the front.or am I better off to get a set of lowering springs? Has anyone tryed this? Mike [Confused]

Generally your better off geting lowering springs - eibah pro's will get you what your looking for.

However you can cut your stockers and that will work too. Depends on your budget and how you drive - in a daily driver, cut the springs, if you auto cross - replace them.

You will likely also need to het lowering brackets for your LCA's as the geometyr will be messed up after you lower the rear.

Lowering the rear without doing the front may look a bit funny as the car is supposed to slope down to the front.

Rubber Spacer Removal This is what I did.. it drops the rear 7/16 of an inch or so.. I'd try this before cutting the springs any. If you still need to cut the springs, do it with a cut off wheel not a torch. The torch will ruin the springs unless you are very very tactful on not heating the rest of the spring.
