laast summer I tried getting these things off, they are triangle in shape and attach to the top right next to the window. Mine were bubbling and peeling, so I tryed removing them, but they seemed to be welded on or something. I had to sand and repaint them on the car, which was a pain to say the least. They turned out looking just like they did when they were brand new, but since winter, the edges have started again, thanks to all the road salt. I want to remove them, sand them down, apply POR15 then paint them, doing this on the car is just to much work. Anyone ever have to do this, cause they started peeling or rusting.

There has been discussion about these before...seems like they are a little bit of a problem area on our cars.

Here's another discussion.

Mine are definitely plastic held on by double sided tape. The metal ones must be bolted on somehow from inside. Put the top down a little ways and look inside for a bolt or screw.

yeah, they definitely come off. i had a 94, just look around for all the different screws in the weather stripping. i took both mine completely off, wire brushed em down to bare metal, primed them with a gray rustoleum, then painted them black, then gave it a couple clear coats, all spray paints you could pick up at the store. looked brand new.

it helped to put the top partially down to locate all the connection points.

good luck
