I've been wanting a pewter car for awhile so I located a '99 convertible in MS a few weeks ago and had it shipped up here. Couldn't keep it stock so I took care of a few mods - chrome 18x10.5 Z06 wheels wrapped with 275/35/18 Nitto 555 tires, painted calipers, Eradispeed rotors, GM pads, Wings West airdam and grill, Stage II HID low beams and lower driving lights, clear corner lights, 200 MPH cluster, SLP lid, MAF, smooth bellows, a ported throttlebody and Predator programmer. The only things left are to have the Suncoast Creations SS hood painted so that can replace the stock hood. I'm not 100% sure that I'll be installing this. I like the car's lines with the stock hood so I might keep that one. A 2800 Vigilant converter will be in by the end of the week and the factory leather will be replaced with a set of custom leather seat covers. This one will be a quiet daily driver so the exhaust will be staying stock.

Looks great - I'd consider lowering it an inch

Everyone says that [Smile] I've thought about bringing it down an inch with the Hotchkis springs but the air deflector that came with the Wings West airdam rubs at the stock ride height. I took it out for a cruise last night and it rubbed when I went over a dip on the highway so taking away another inch would really be a pain in the butt. I might put the stock deflector back in to see if the car runs any warmer and then go from there.

Nice ride! Not many of us Pewter verts with Neutral interior around. Are you planning on keeping your custom seat covers neutral or changing the color?

I was going to change the interior to black but like how the neutral looks so I'm going to keep that color.

Looks awesome Tom. I like the lines of the car too. As for the exhaust, did you think of the SLP exhaust? It's pretty quiet but flows well - a good choice for a daily driver.

I've thought about using their dual outlet system with quad tips but want the car to stay factory quiet. Almost everything I drive makes some noise so it's nice to not hear the exhaust once in awhile. Or maybe I'm just getting old [Smile]

One thing that I haven't decided on yet is the hood. I have a Suncoast SS style hood here ready to be painted but I think there might be to much going on with that and the groundeffects. Usually either one or the other will look good.

Good call Tom, that black would have attracted some serious heat.

Nice car! Will you be bringing it out to SLP Day in NJ this year?

Not sure what I'll be bringing down this year. Englishtown is tough when it comes to tech so they would want to see a cage in this car or my C5 because they are both convertibles. I don't think they will mind seeing the Suburban run low 14s though [Smile]

The big Suburban would be cool but I ran mid 13's last year in my vert without a bar at SLP and they never said a word until it was time for eliminations. I think I dialed in about 13.4 and they said I couldn't go faster than 14.000. So I ran a 14.001 [Cool] [Big Grin] anyway if they let me get by I'm sure they would let you play as long as you aren't in the 12's or something. Bring the Z down. [Cool]

I think all you'd need is the 4-point. The wolfevert cage looks pretty sweet on these cars. a chrome one would look sweet on this car.

I ran 11.9 in my C5 at the "local track" and they didn't say to much. Just told me not to get to deep into the 11s. This car will probably be somewhere in the mid to high 12s. It's just a daily driver for the times that I don't want to use a truck. It will get year round use when there isn't snow on the roads so I don't want to put a cage in it.

There's always the "one and done" approach. [Big Grin]
