Hey guys,

When I moved into this new house 2 years ago, I noticed that when turning the steering wheel or backing in to the driveway or anything, that it is very easy to leave black marks on the driveway. In some cases very light black colored tire tracks... The driveway also is prone to turning a slight yellow in certain places and I just wondered if this is normal Previous driveways I have lived in weren't this easy to mark and such.

I know its a silly question but I wanted a smooth, clean driveway, and so far it ends up looking kind of dirty all the time, even if you wash it. I have tried using the hose and it takes quite a bit of weathering to get the black marks off the driveway.

Seems nornmal when they cement is finished with a broom for grip. Try a pressure washer, it will remove the tire marks. [Smile]

Even my car tires make these black marks on the garage floor and it has a smooth finish.

My new driveway (June 2002), also leaves tire marks. But they seem to go away after a while. One thing I did a couple weeks after it was put in was put down a cement sealent. I think it is getting to be that time again. I don't have the yellowing problem, I wonder if that was because of the sealent?

How about painting it with a cement epoxy?
