Just got coffe at store,a guy comes up to me and asks "Where did you get your cm exhaust" Told him SLP factory installed". He says "I have 02 Z28 and he asked to buy a kit from SLP telling them he had an SS". SLP asked for his VIN next day called him and said "Your car is not an SS we are not in business to sell parts for cloned cars". Thanks SLP for trying to kepp SSpecial!

I think you should need a VIN to buy the
emblems, but other than that I wouldn't
care. SLP won't sell parts to a Z28 but
they sell parts for fords and imports.
Its an exhaust, I don't consider that as
posing and its not as if all SS's have it.
SLP also sells them to venders who sell them
to anyone anyway.

Unfortunately, SS emblems are as easy as gmpartsdirect.com for anyone. If you want to clone one, you can, but at least with a VIN conversion list, it's easy enough to verify whether an SS is a gennie or not.

GM will sell all of the SS OE parts to anyone that wants them - even to put on a truck.

I saw them on a 4x4 extended cab Chevy the other day (I guess it's at least good they were on a Chevy!)
