Has anyone here removed the hydrolics from their car and made the top fully manual? My car is becoming a race car and I need to drop weight. I've been told there's almost 80 lbs. of pump, motors, lines, etc. I know the powered top is cool and convenient and all that and I'm going to miss it, but I'm not going to throw anything away, so I can always go back in the car's next life...

Yes, you should be able to remove the entire setup. I dont think they were THAT heavy, but ok. BTW, if you DO decide to get rid of the parts, drop me a line, as I may be interested in a spare set.

I agree that sounds like too much weight, but I read it somewhere. Best taken with a large grain of salt... lol

I don't intend to sell it, sorry. If I go really crazy with the racing, I might move everything to a stripped coupe and put the 'vert back to cruiser shape... Don't think I want to put a full cage in this already heavy (3910 lbs. with me) beast.

that does sound like a lot of weight. If it does way that much, the top goes up and down pretty easily manually, i'd image alot easier without the mechanism. There may be other things that can be removed other than just the motor and lines because they just aren't necessary. ]
I image you removed the rear seatbelts already, those have a nice chunk of weight to them also
