I blew off the call on Thursday the 7th of March. I've gotten very discouraged since placing my order on January 4th about this order mess. I finally called again today March 11th just to see if anything has happened on my order. I found out several things.
1) I have finally been moved up to #1 sold order pending for an SS at my dealership. Not because they were given an allocation, but because GM went into their system and accepted the previous #1 order pending that was ahead of me. I was #2, and the order ahead of me was accepted making me #1 in line for an SS order. I think they call this "preferencing" if they accept an order from a dealership even when that dealership does not have an allocation for that week. So that is good news.
2) They also indicated that they found out on Thursday March 7th, that they were not given an allocation for this weeks order, which of course, would go in on Tuesday March 12th. So all I can hope for is that they will be "preferenced" again, and that my order will be accepted this week without an actual allocation being made available. This is highly unlikely though, two weeks in a row.
3) I found out that they haven't even faxed in the SLP order sheet yet. They said they don't do that until they are notified through the POMS ordering computer system that GM has in fact accepted the order. This was news to me. From previous conversations, the dealership indicated that the order fax to SLP had already been sent off. I'm curious to know if anyone else understands the SLP order process and when it is exactly that the SLP order fax should be sent in. I will call SLP directly tomorrow morning and get answers to that part of the puzzle.
4) They also told me that they normally know by this time of the month how many allotments they will have in the given month (not to be confused with the weekly allocations), but the POMS system still shows to "expect an update on March 7th" and hasn't been changed or updated yet, which they said was unusual.
5) After 9 weeks they finally gave me an order #DWVS9M. Which finally indicates to me that my order has at least been input into the computer and is waiting for acceptance.
Keeping hope alive, (wow, am I allowed to use that phrase?)
Only 3 weeks left until it's forever too late.

Yeah, these cars are definitely worth the wait! Hang in there.

I feel your anxiety. I had an order on a 35th LE fall through at the last hour after waiting over 2 months for it.The dealer even called me and asked me to come in and look at it right after it arrived. Actually it worked out for the best for several reasons. I placed another order at a dealer that already had his order placed for a 35th. This was 3 days after the first one went south.I had to wait another 4 months for that car to come in. But it sure was worth the wait. I feel sorry for those who want an SS and don't have their order in by 3/15. Keep us posted.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of a few people at GM who love cars and car people more than marketing and money, sold orders are being accepted and will be built. In the end, a few orders by dealers for dealer stock, may not get built. But there will be a lot of happy Chevy customers with sold orders in the system now, running around later this fall with SSmiles on their faces and brand loyalty in their veins.
My order was accepted. I was notified early on Thursday the 14th of March. Now I'm chasing after my dealer to make sure the SLP order is faxed in and confirmed.
I am so jazzzzzzed. I'm sure it won't get built till May and I don't care!!! Rebate or not, it's gonna be mine.
I will join once I have the VIN. I went with the Bilstein and Auburn. I hope I've made the right decision.

At last a TPW of 5/13. I ordered on 1/4 and the order was accepted 3/14. Today GM Customer Service gave me the TPW, so it'll be here June.
I called SLP on Friday the 15th and they had received the fax order from my dealer with the order number attached so it looks like everything is ok. I had SLP fax me a confirmation directly at home and it is 100% accurate. The dealer also sent me a copy of the "Vehicle Order Detail", and that is accurate as well.
I'm much happier now!
