Nice to get home from work and see a bunch of boxes filled with fun parts for my SS. Only today was an eye opener. Three boxes from SLP. Two are in great shape but the third, a 2'x2'x5' box has multiple holes punched in it from the inside out. On closer inspection, it's the subframe connectors and there is no packing in the box. That means they have been banging around from New Jersey to Oregon and no wonder there are holes in the box. No big deal I hope! I get on the phone to SLP and leave a message to please call. Never got a call back. Since this all happen this morning, maybe I'll get that call tomorrow.
Long story short, has anyone else had this problem with SLP and ,if so, how did it turn out. I sure don't want to be hung out to dry for somebody elses bonehead work ethic.

Well I just got my box with subs from SLP with no problems. Nicely packed with no box damage, so I would guess you unfortunately got someone on a bad day. I would have not been trilled about not getting a call back from them. Good luck

My SFC's showed up in good condition, with plenty of packing material. Sorry your's didn't, but I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that kind of thing happen's to.
They are closed until Thurs 1/2/03. I placed an order online, and there was a message stating it wouldn't be processed until then.(when they return to work)

Got my 35th Anniversary SS (painted) grill yesterday in a nice BIG box. Open it up, and all that's inside is the grill. No packing whatsoever. Nada. Zip. ZERO.
Had a piece of foam wrap taped around the grill though. I haven't unwraped it to really check it out closely, but you'd think they might pack a $300(sale price, by the way) part a little better than that! It was just bouncing around in the box.

Sounds like what I received. Was lucky enough to have only some minor cosmetic damage to a suspension part. The box looked like it had been shipped via Iraq on an M-1. I knew my sub frame connectors had arrived 'cause they were poking through the box.
To be fair, my next shipment was no prob at all.

My subframes were poking through the sides. You could wonder if they didn't come out of the box and was then shoved back in the box on delivery! ha ha They had to be altered to go on the car too! The center mounts on the cross member was off a half a hole! You would think the jig was set right when they build them. No complaints all in all. They are on and I am happy for now!

Being that I am a manager at a facility that receives hundreds of boxes per day, occasionally a package will be destroyed by UPS in transit. When this occurs, UPS will place the contents in another box supplied by UPS and send the package on to its destination. So... being that the subframe connectors are relatively heavy, damage to this type of box may be fairly typical. So.. the bottom line is... I wouldn't be too tough on SLP for the package you received.
By the way you described your box, it is consistent with a "replacement" box.

Considering the subframes will sit under your car and fear the elements, I'm sure everything will work out. However, I hate receiving shady packaging just as much as the next guy. Good luck.
