I would like to have the SS-driver avatar, as I have in other forums.

Can't you copy the properties of the avatar and insert them into your profile?

There's a place to change your avatar, to the one of your choosing, in your profile. There's a field to enter a URL of a .jpg or .gif
Just make sure it's not too big. Around 100 pixels per side is a good size (yes, I know mine's a little more than that).

You can edit the photo and resize it if necessary.

According to the user settings (if I've read them right), you should be able to set your own avatar after your first 5 posts.
