I just got the flyer in the mail for it. The date is Feb. 15 at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis,TX. I will be there trying to redeem myself from a very poor showing last year (the clutch started slipping above 4 grand on the only pass I made). My wife will be running her 93 Indy Pace Car and I will be in my SS. Anyone on the board going? It would be nice to put names and faces together.

97LT1SS, I'm going to be there in my '99 NBM SS A4 Hardtop. I went to the Texas SLP Day last year but my car was up in Ohio, so I just watched the racing and looked at the cars. I did go to the SLP Day in Columbus, Ohio last June and had a good time at that show. I'm going to try getting my car into the 12's for the first time. It's ran a 13.07 @ 106mph up in Ohio over a year ago. I did some new mods this year and the car feels vary strong. I know that I can do it. I just hope that I can get some traction. I have never raced at the Texas Motorplex before. Does the track hook up well?
New Mods: Mufflex- 4" Flowmaster exhaust system SLP- Cold Air Induction SLP- 85MM MAF sensor SLP- Bellows Ram Chargers- MAF Translator Kirban- Throttle Enhancer

I am afraid I don't know how well the track hooks up. My clutch was slipping so bad on my only pass last year I barely even got the car moving. This was my first time to go to Ennis my normal track is in Hallsville TX. I just bought some Nitto drag radials today so I am hoping this solves my previous traction problems.

Hallsville is a 1/4 mile strip. They used to have a website with a schedule but the track has changed ownership or something and it has not been updated in a while. If the weather holds we still plan to be there sat. Mine will be the black SS (I sometimes think that is the only color available in 97) with the 11 inch wide replica wheels in the back and personalized plates, hope I get to see you there it sounds like you have a pretty good combo with that car. Maybe this cool air will stay around long enough for us all to get in some good passes.

I had a great time, and I learned a lot for first time drag racing. I know I made a few laugh and that is OK. I guess my buddy who said put it at 2000 RPM and dump the clutch was having fun, plus he said go on green. My reaction time was .800 and 15.9 and he ran 190 reaction time with 12.45!!
I will get him back.

I was there and made one run of 13.27 @ 104.77. It wasn't the 12 second run that I was hoping for but, I was happy with it, the car spun the tires bad off the line and my MAF translator was set too high. I made some changes after the run and the car felt much better on the way home. I just wish that I could of gotten a nother run down the track. Posts: 38 | From: Azle, Texas | Registered: Dec 2002
