I just installed a new LS6 405 HP engine in my 99 Camaro SS convertible. Unfortunatly the performance is the same and the Chevy dealership I bought the engine from as well as two others are lost on what to do. Has anyone ever installed the LS6 and if so, do I need to reprogram the computer or what?? Is something like this covered under warrenty even though I has an outside agent install the engine?

Thanks

Why didn't you have the dealership where you purchased the LS6 install it? I would seem to think that you would be out of luck on the warranty if somebody else other than the dealership installed the engine. The place that did the install would of warrantied the install and that's it. Yes there would be a warranty issue, but only on mechanical parts of the LS6 from the dealership that sold you the engine. Not to be smart but when you do an engine swap especially on an advanced powerplant like the LS6 you need to do a computer re-programming. When I did my LT4 conversion I definitely had to have the computer re-programmed. Try PCMforless, I beleive he started doing LS1's, Bryan is a great PCM programmer. He may be a little expensive on programming LS1/LS6 but you already spent some serious coin on that LS6, a little more wouldn't hurt on getting that beast to run correctly. Good luck.......
