I am trying to make arrangements to be a part of the festivites at BG this summer. I have a few issues though. I will not have my car there. What is the average cost of attending the event, besides travel to and from.
Where can I find the info on the show.
I am on a budget, being a college student and all, but I want to make it happen.

Scott, The SSOA has a block of rooms held back. If you play around with the forum search feature, you should be able to find several past threads on Bowling Green (I'd search them out and post them for you, but I'm limited on time right now).
I'd budget $100 a day to cover motel, food, travel, misc. purchases, etc. You'll most likely come in under that, but it gives you a buffer, "just in case". For two people traveling together, I'd budget $150 per day. It definitely can be done for less though, depending on where you stay and where/how you eat. We cut corners where we can, so we can splurge at other times.
For our two week trip, driving to and from Oregon, we're budgeting about $2000 total for the two of us. That's what it's cost us per trip the last two times we've done it. We'll probably tighten it up this year and try to cut that almost in half.
Glad to see you participating on the forum....ask lots of questions and jump in wherever you can.
Looking forward to meeting you in Bowling Green. Make sure you try to get there for SSOA Thursday (the day before the actual NCM event). It's a good way to hang out and get to know a lot of us before the busy weekend starts.

Teri, are you staying at the same place as last year? We got online to check availability last week and it said they were completely booked for that time. I told my wife to call and check anyway. She called the next day and when she told them we stayed there last year she found us a room! I guess I shouldnt have waited so long this time, last year we reserved in february! As far as we could tell, every room at the corvette exit is booked, the only ones ONLINE are at the other exit 6 miles down the interstate. In any case, we are looking forward to it, my wife even expressed an interest in taking the SS down the track a time or two! Posts: 200 | From: Baxter, TN. 38544 | Registered: Feb 2000

Yup, same place. Call and see if there are any rooms in the SSOA block still available.
