I would greatly appreciate any information on this years event in BG. Does a whole group go down together, or is there anyone in Ohio going, is everyone from the ssoa meeting somewhere. Any details as far as hotels and what is planned would be appreciated. I would like to attend, i've never been before and it sounds like a great time. Thanks for the help!

there will (probably) be an SSOA Thursday like last year. It was a private tour of the factory and other priviledges. There will be tons of info coming in the next couple of months. Maybe this year we can break the 1000 car mark.

The SSOA will be helping w/the event in some capacity or another. Details are yet to be determined.
We'll be driving in from Oregon a day or two early to get more socializing in before we knuckle down and work all weekend at the event.
We're still looking for an SSOA member to step forward to organize a block of hotel rooms and assist w/SSOA Thursday. Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

I won't know if I'm going for some time yet. I can however look into making the arrangements at the Go-Kart track.
Reserving the room block was a major headache. I would suggest that anyone considering attending book a room now ... the Best Western Continental Inn seemed to be to preferred location ... and cancel it if you can't make it .... the rate difference if you qualify for any of the other standard discounts is negligible, and perhaps some disount coupons will be found again.

I just reserved our room for BG at the best western, the 17-20th. This is the place directly accross the highway from the musuem. You may want to do the same, if you plan on attending, as I am sure it will fill up fast. The price was $49.50 per room, but we may be able to find coupons like last year! Hope to see you all there!

Called Best Western and they said it was the "Motor Inn". Several posts up the hotel was called the "Continental Inn". Are they the same or 2 different places. Posts: 3091 | From: Canton Mi. | Registered: Oct 2002

Something is fishy here .... this is the hotel information from last year
B E S T W E S T E R N Continental Inn 700 Interstate Drive, Bowling Green 42101 270-781-5200 Fax: 270-782-0314
The link I had doesn't bring up the hotel, and a Bowling Green search on the Best Western page only locates the "Motor" Inn. NOT THE SAME PLACE. I'll keep checking and see what I can find.

Ed,I just got off the phone and made my reservations. The person who answered the phone said "Continental Inn". I said I must have the wrong # and was looking for the Best Western. She said that this was the old Best Western. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

I have a room at both places untill I can find out more . Can't seem to find any info also. The link to the gathering on the Corvette web mentions the "Best Western Motor Inn" with a phone # of (270) 782 3800 .

I think the phone # listed on the NCM website is for the Best Western at the same exit as the go-cart track. Derek and Carol ended up there last year instead of the one near the Museum & Assembly Plant. Maybe Derek can confirm for us.

I failed to mention that the girl that I talked to at the Continental Inn stated that 3 months ago the hotel changed names. She stated that they are right across the street from the Country Hearth and the Corvette Museum.

That makes sense as to why Best Western called it the "Motor Inn" and not the Continental Inn.
Motor Inn exit #22 Continental Inn exit #28
Will be canceling the motor inn today. Have a room at the Continental was about $15 less per night .

I made my reservation at the Country Hearth Inn,last year before I left. After they changed the dates,I called to change my reservation dates. They told me at that time that it was booked for the orignal dates. I don't know if they are automatically change everyones dates. Thats why I called to change mine. Looking forward to seeing everyone there again.

It's known only as the 'Continental Inn'. They are no longer with the Best Western chain.
Yes, the Best Western Motor Inn is down at exit 22. You want the Continental Inn at exit 28.
I'll be talking to the Gen'l Mngr tomorrow and working on a price and setting aside a block of rooms for the SSOA, so if you can hold off, give me until tomorrow afternoon and I'll post a new thread with the necessary info.
Thanx , Mike.

I'll be updating maps of the area, that I did for last years event. For any specific directions needed, I'll go down to BG and get VERY specific directions to places of interest. That is what I did for the SSOA day cruise to dinner in Glascow for last years event.
I'll find my links to the maps used for last year and post them again so people can get some ideas for more information to add.
