Could people who participate on other boards and lists spread this info around? I'm slammin' busy today and won't get a chance.
I'd love to see us full of SSOA people for the special, Thursday, Sept 19th activities in Bowling Green.

Here is the e-mail text in case yours bounced.
quote: We are pleased to advise that the SSOA has made special arrangements to further enhance your experience at the Camaro/Firebird Gathering, September 20-22, 2002 hosted by the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. http://www.corvettemuseum.com/registration/f-body/info.shtml
The NCM does such great job of organizing the event that one must choose which activities to participate in, and by extension which have to be missed. As many SSOA members are traveling a considerable distance, we felt it appropriate to add a day to the event to maximize the benefit from the trip.
The agenda/privileges for Thursday, September 19, will be as follows:
MORNING Breakfast: Informal. Car Detailing: Gotta get ‘em pretty for the event. NCM: Sign in for the show and tour the museum. (Opens at 8:00 AM) Lunch: Informal.
EARLY EVENING Group Scenic Cruise to Glasgow, KY and dinner at Boltons Landing. To accommodate the group size we will be working with a limited menu. http://mammothcave.com/boltons.htm
EVENING Group Scenic Cruise, or Interstate blast (depending on available time) back to Bowling Green and 3 hours of all-you-can ride at Raceworld. http://www.raceworld-bg.com/
LATE EVENING Informal – check out the crowd at the museum or get to bed early to prepare for Autocross in the AM.
CAPACITY Registration for SSOA Thursday is limited to 80 participants on a first come/first served basis. Register Early to guarantee your spot.
COST We will provide the Bolton’s Landing limited menu and meal costs to registrants. There will be a mandatory 20% gratuity applied because of the group size. Raceworld: $18.00 for all you can ride on both tracks. They will also be providing a “King of the Hill” trophy to our “Slick Track” champion.
ACCOMODATIONS Many of us our staying at the Best Western Continental Inn. The SSOA room block is currently full, however, several rooms have not been confirmed and may come available August 16th. http://www.bestwestern.com/prop_18016
REGISTRATON DEADLINE Registration is available exclusively to SSOA members until August 15th. STARTING AUGUST 16TH WE WILL ALLOW PARTICIPATING SSOA MEMBERS TO SPONSOR IN NON SS OWNING FRIENDS THAT ARE ATTENDING THE CAMARO/FIREBIRD GATHERING.
TO REGISTER Send e-mail to artschroeder@ssoa.net Please include your name, membership number and number of people (adults and children) in your car.
p.s. The Camaro/Firebird gathering in Bowling Green will be “THE” F-body event in 2002. The goal is to have 1,000 cars at the event to fulfill the Fbodfather’s (Scott Settlemire) dream. This is an event you do not want to miss.

Art, if we don't fill up before B.G., I'm sure we'll find people the day of the event to fill spaces.

I am not a member of SSOA, but have been a board regular since it started. I prefer to spend my money to be a member of my local club. I would love to attend some of the events you have scheduled. Any chance? I will be staying at the Best Western.

You still have time to join
SSOA Thursday is designed as a membership benefit for SSOA members and as space permits, non-SS owning friends of participants.

Don't you want to have a Letter of Authenticity for your car? That alone is worth the membership to most people, not to mention the participation in a great community of people. I know the SSOA people much better than some of the locals. Heck, I know them a lot more than my own neighbors!

On Labor Day weekend I'll be making the dry run for our SSOA Day Cruise, to Boltons Landing in Glasgow along the scenic route and then back to Bowling Green along the interstate to Race World. I'll be writing up directions and trying to do a map or 2 that I'll be able to link to so that folks can download them.
Hopefully I'll keep anyone from getting lost. Don't forget the FRS radios for the convoy fun.

Shall we decide on a channel combo now, so we can locate each other as we get into town?
Art, shall we use the "usual", or make up a new one for this event only?

I sent in an SSOA application a couple of weeks ago but I have not received any info yet. I have a room for Friday and Saturday night at another hotel but would prefer to stay at the Best Western. We stayed there last year and it was very convenient. If you have any rooms left over I would like to request one for the two nights mentioned above. Can't come any earlier due to work commitments but my son and I are looking forward to coming up for the weekend.

If this is James Woodward, I received your app on 8/10. You'll see your official welcome message, along with all of our other new August members, at the end of the month.

That is correct. We are limited by number of people, not number of cars.

Jeff is noted as Nate's guest for SSOA Thursday, but I'm not sure what Nate has planned & relayed to Jeff regarding general event registration. I'm assuming Nate already had 2 people registered, but if not, he needs to contact Jeff and get him to register himself. It's up to Nate to make sure his passenger is taken care of, but I'll post the link here just in case he hasn't taken care of it. http://www.corvettemuseum.com/registration/f-body/info.shtmlPosts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

Art: Nathan should have already informed you of this, but if he hasn't, his passenger, Jeff, has had to cancel his participation in the B.G. trip. That opens up a spot for SSOA Thursday.
