We are starting to talk about a 5-car convoy from the Toronto area, leaving around mid-day on Tuesday and crossing the border at either Windsor or Sarnia. Gonna sleep on the road somewhere in Ohio Tues. night and try get to the Continental by mid-afternoon on Wed.

BLKRAGSS02, your not by chance a fireman in Taylor (Eureka & Telegraph). Think I seen your car there?????
Also, sounds like people are leaving at somewhat different times. On your way down keep your eyes out for stranded club members in need of help and drive safe. We are leaving 8am on Wednesday, so not to miss out on our first event. See you there..

Thanks, Brian. I'll let you know if we decide to go thru Windsor. We went that route last year, and crossed over around 8:00 pm. No line-up and It took all of 5 min. for both Bill Mason and I to clear U.S. customs and immigration. But after crossing the bridge, it was like a slalom course thru a pretty seedy area of Detroit, to get onto I-75. It's a miracle we didn't get lost (well, actuallywe did for about 2 minutes!). We came back thru Sarnia, and the roads were great - except we must've waited in line 2 hrs. to cross back into Canada. I think the Canadian border dudes were working to rule or something. We may decide to reverse the procedure this year.

The Sarnia - Port Huron bridge is backed up a lot more than the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor/Detroit. You could always use the tunnel, and pause for a moment at GM World Headquarters for a quick photo. Then you can take freeways to I75 south.
The trip from the bridge to 75 south is a tad nasty but only lasts about 2 minutes.
Or, spend the night in Windsor and head out Wed. a.m. with us and hook up with John S on the way. Just a thought.

Thanks for the tip! If that's the case, I suspect we'll cross again at the Ambassador Bridge - but I know if we leave Toronto around mid-day on Wed., then we'll want to be well past Windsor by the time we call it quits for the day, so we can have an easy ride to BG on Thursday. If you are close to the route thru Windsor, maybe we'll be able to stop and say hi. I know there's a Sunoco station not too far from the bridge!

Everything is real close in Windsor. You should give me a call on my cell as you pass by Tilbury, you go right by my house on the way into Windsor, and there is a Sunoco station just down the road from my house. They just re-opened and I filled up there this morning.
Actually I'm in Troy Michigan right now at Oakland Mall. We took the tunnel and drove right through with no waiting at all. Mary is shopping and I'm at the Comcast booth just killing time! It's so nice I'm gonna go sit outside and read my GM Hightech Magazine!
Tomorrow is clean the SS day and begin to prepare for BG! Yee Haw!
I understand about wanting to be Mid Ohio by Wed. It just doesn't make sense for us to leave till Wed. morning though. Hope you're able to stop in for a few minutes on Tuesday though.
