I liked where we stayed last year, too.....and I agree about the restaurant....that was quite convenient, especially for breakfast.
Teri....we stayed wayyyy on the other side of the motel from y'all (upstairs) and I didn't notice any mold or allergy problems (I'm quite allergic to mold)....for what that's worth.....
However, I'll stay wherever y'all decide!! I can't WAIT!!!!

Millicent: We stayed in room 107 in 2002 (lower level, opposite side from where we stayed in 2003) and that room was also very mildewy/stinky (My lungs were already aggravated from breathing the air in smoky restaurants during our trip). I stuck it out and ended up sick. Both years.
I didn't want to piss off the hotel staff by asking to preview half a dozen rooms because most people don't react to the same allergy type things I do. I'm pretty much resigned to not leaving there a third time sick, so even if the group decides to keep the Continental Inn as home base/"the Porch", I'm o.k. with traveling from another location to be w/everyone for "hanging out" in the evenings. I'll go w/the majority. Posts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

Ditto.
Karen & I were on the second floor this year, with no musty smell or mould. It could be just a 1st floor thing. It was nice having SSOA headquarters and the Fbodfather gallery on the 1st floor, but you may want to consider the 2nd floor for next year.

It sounds like a lot of people were happy with the place last year. If this is the case then we should see if we could get another block like last year.

Looks like the Continental Inn is fine w/the majority speaking up, so I'll check out the 2nd floor next time. (Maybe it is a ground floor thing.)
Now, someone on the ground floor will get to become "headquarters"! (I liked that back corner of the lot. It was quiet.)

Not that I am aware of yet. I know we have a tentative date, but just like last years event, the date MAY change, based on other events at the track and at the NCM. I hope to get a definate answer soon, so we can all get rooms, and set aside our vacation time!
Will let you all know if I hear. Maybe the F-bod father has heard something as of late that I have not, and can answer on this subject.

Since this is still a 3-day event it looks like they simply shifted from Friday-Sunday to Thursday-Saturday. I suspect that the events that were on Friday previously will now be held on Thursday. At least from the dates shown, unless it is a typo on the NCM page.

Once we establish an agenda for the main event, we'll keep you posted on the SSOA activities and what day they'll take place. We've got a few ideas for SSomething SSpecial.

SSOA thursday will still be on Thursday(go figure!). We are just moving Sundays activities to friday/Saturday so folks can get a start home early (as many voiced they wanted to do after last years event).
We will not be having SSOA Wednesday, although some of us will most likely get into town early so we can "set things up"
I cant wait......... we are about 1/4 of the way there already (only 9 more months)
Like HTWLSS said, as soon as we know the details, we will post them. Just waiting on some confirmations and such. Stay tuned.............

If we are having SSOA Thursday, then why is the Corvette Museum saying the event is the 16-18. Last year the F-Body Gathering was 3 days and one day SSOA. Are you saying it will be only 3 days with SSOA day? If we have SSOA day on Thursday, what are the other people going to do? Will we miss some of the activties?

We don't know at this point. We haven't conferenced to discuss the agenda and final dates yet. We'll let you know once we have the details.

Ohhhh shoot!! Let's back up everything so that we have an SSOA Wednesday..... We can handle it!! In fact, it's better that we mess up one whole work week than go into another one.... (jmho)
btw.....started the drive back on Sunday afternoon last year, spent the nite, drove the rest of the way on Monday & then went back to work on Tuesday...messed up 2 weeks of work......they're STILL not over it.... .....you'd be surprised how tired you get after all the fun!! ....especially the grape kool-ade.....LOL!!!
