Looks like both sides of the road will be populated with SSOA members. More exposure = more people who see what a great group of friends we have here. We'll bring a caravan of folks over to The Back Porch, headquartered at the Continental Inn, for after dinner conversation. It suits our after event visiting.....it's quiet, has a lot of room for parking, and the on-site restaurant is handy for those late-night munchies.

We just booked a room at the county hearth as well. Like HTWLSS said, we will make sure and come hang out at the Continental inn....... loved the "back porch" over there we set up in the evenings last year. That was maybe the most fun of the event (short of driving over Rags hat !!!)

Welp......should we book the whole Country Hearth for SSOA??? I've got 40 rooms at the Continental....and if CH has 40 rooms.....iz about the same difference, no?? Plus, it still may be early enough to do it.....whatchall think??

The continental inn has the better parking, and a larger lot to hang out in as a group. I would say to stay there, as I know a ton of others will be getting rooms there as well. And that is where we will be hanging out as well. I liked the idea of the "home room" like we had last year.

OK....that's cool!! And I'll be the "home room", since I've asked for y'all's room from last year....I'll stay put!!
The Continental Inn -- still home of the "Back Porch"! Reservation info up top!

We booked at the Country Hearth for convenience. It'll be easier for Steve or myself to walk over there from the Museum rather than shuttling back & forth across the highway half a dozen times throughout the day.
Keep the Continental Inn as home base. It's nice to have the restaurant and large parking lot available for our back porch visits.
We'll drag the Country Hearth residents over with us.

I would also note that the Country Hearth is RIGHT beside the highway. If you have the misfortune to a get a room on that side of the hotel....it could be noisy.

....aaaannnnndddd....the Continental is the site where the "Back Porch" happens .....you don't have to worry about driving back to the hotel.....you can just walk back to your room (that's "stumble" for you, Ed....LOL!! j/k!!)

Have you guys decided whether you will be driving yet? Hoping for a caravan!!
At this point, it looks like we will be driving. Hopefully will be picking up MM along the way the first day (and staying the night at his house, we hope!), then picking you guys on the second day (and staying the nice at your house again, if thats ok!). Should be fun. Maybe we will pick up some others along the way as well.
We are really looking foreward to the trip again. Its only about 9 months away.... man its coming up fast!

There is another hote that is closed between the continental inn and the highway. There was no road noise heard. I stayed on the highway side last year.

Found a picture of the Country Hearth....the Continental is right behind it across the highway....you can almost see it from here....yes, I doubt if it's even 1/4 mile...
and here is where the "infamous" Back Porch takes place at night...
Who are those guys??
...at the Continental....that guy needs to clean his car...
