Sorry to see the SLP board go,....but because I enjoyed the crowd there, and saw that nearly everyone was migrating over to this board,.... I decided to join as well.
Hopefully THIS TIME I can get in enough posts to eliminate my "newbiness" and maybe get an avatar before THIS board shuts down as well.

Welcome aboard, we arn't going anywhere!! We love our cars and love to keep them performing as well if not better than new. I am not suprised that SLP abandoned the F-body, but I am surprised they pulled their entire board. I think that that will be a big mistake for their marketing efforts and customer loyalty.

Well...as Dave had stated,...he had his reasons. Since SLP Engineering doesn't exist anymore, there is no point in keeping an "SLP Engineering" message forum. Dave had his hands full, since he was the one running the whole board for a few years.... He has commitments of his own, which are more important than running a message board (like his family). He spent much of his free time watching and running the board. I know it may seem very important to some of us,... but his reasons are understandable to me.
Who knows,...maybe in the future there will be a new SLP forum once again,...but this time it will be the SLP Performance Parts/Auto Groups forum.

Economics forced these decisions. SLP Canada bankrupt, and was announced at same time that Jeffy (marketing) plus Chief Engineer gone just as fast as the board. Would you lose your best staffers that made it all possible if you didn't have to? These are boardroom decisions made after analysis of quarterly results.
We need to respect their decisions, and wish them the best, and continue to purchase from them out of gratitude. Not abandon our mentor and dis their actions. Had the GTO been taking off, and picking up steam in sales, maybe a SLP version would have provided the volume to keep things humming. Mustangs embraced - another possible reason to end the Fbody boards.
This economy is in the crapper, regardless of what any prognisticator is spewing or what spin leaders put on it. Discretionary spending on things like car mods is so far down the hierarchy of needs thingy we operate under. Folks are pinching everywhere because we are so heavily laden in debt and losing half our breadwinners in many regions with no possible correction waiting in the wings. NAFTA has changed everything!!!
My mods will wait until my payments go away. How does that benefit SLP now?

I agree, FirstLast. Rob and I wish them nothing but the best. We have a lot of their products, and they've been good to us. I also hope that the people who have lost their jobs due to this, will find good, new jobs very quickly. Posts: 38 | From: San Diego | Registered: Aug 2003
