With the stock airbox and hose, would you see any benefit in cutting out the bottom of the stock box? I am going to get the SLP or maybe the GM induction(I like the design). I just think that it needs more air to the TB and engine. It seems to wheeze above 4500 RPM, so I was wondering.

Sorry.. SS owner here, but know plenty of those who don't own a SS. I wouldn't deface your original airbox. I'd suggest going w/ an aftermarket CAI. Don't know about the GM setup which you mentioned, but SLP and LPE make good pieces which will give you good results.

I got the lid for the airfilter out of a junkyard mobile, so my original is ok. I tried it while it is dry outside, and it seemed to help. There is definetly no wheezing anymore.

The GM setup is the F1 Induction system in the Performance Parts Catalog. It has 2 filters on it, and looks sweet! Posts: 471 | From: Justin, in the Great State, Texas | Registered: Sep 2000

a frind of mine has a 94' Z with the K&N cold air intake and that seems to work just fine. Also if you have the need for more air you can unscrew the lower valence piece, although you would have to put it back on if it rains or if you are going through a puddle.
