I just ordered one and I was wondering if anyone has pictures of where they mounted it. Or a good description of where it is located.

Thanks

Collin

I had the shop do it where they always do. It is inline with the main pipe and exits JUST before it goes up over the rear axle. So if you get on your knees at the rear of your car and look under you see it coming out from under the axle but it is acually before it. The way it looks when you crawl under there is that the pipe is STRAIGHT down the middle of the car and ends that way but in reality it continues up over the axle.

OK I probably just repeated myself 40 times but you get the point.

Collin, I have been reading about these also. It appears most people mount them just before the pipe enters the muffler.

Zed has some good pics of his installation. http://www.geocities.com/ls1_zed/cutout.htm

There is also a write up on www.installuniversity.com

I would say the best place to put one is back in the box and back to the post office!! but really though you want to put it as far back as possible

ok I got mine on, its right before the rear axle and it is loud. Not too much interior resonance but there is a drone at 2K RPM's. I like how it sounds only if it were a tit bit quieter I'd ddrive it all the time with the cap off.

Drove past 2 cop cars on my way home from my friends house and one of them followed me for about a mile. Kept it in 5th gear a at 45 MPH to keep the sound low glad I didn't get pulled over

I told you they are LOUD! I just took my cap back off last night and ticked my friends father who happen to both (friend and his dad) be Sheriffs for the county! As I headed down the street in front of their house I couldn't keep from flooring it. Yours is placed where mine is and I also have the 2000RPM groan. You would want to put the cap on for a long highway trip where you would be cruising at 75-80mph, trust me it gets annoying! When you put the cap back on it feels and sounds (to you that is) that it is back to stock. It is that big of a difference.

I like it more and more every time I take the cap off.

Keep us posted on the mods!

makes sneaking out at 2am a little more difficult. I've already had the neighbors complain and since we live on a hill I roll the car out and down the hill and turn it on at the bottom of the hill.
