I own a 2002 Firehawk W/auto tranny & Auburn Differential.I have a clunk in my driveline. Clunk occurs at 25-30 mph in city traffic & sometimes when stopping at traffic signals & stop signs. Dealer claims that when clearances in driveline stackup, clunk happens. Says this is normal. Have heard from other F-body owners of the same problem (factory 6 sp.& Automatics). Any suggestions or ideas on how to solve problem?

I've had three Camaros, and two were prone to a similar problem. I'd notice accelerating from a slow turn, like a residential street. Dealer advised I go to an open parking lot and turn a few tight figure-8s, steering wheel all the way locked. He said it opens up the differential so the gear oil reaches all parts more effectively. I thought he was nuts. But it worked. Every time the diff got noisy, a couple of 8s in the parking lot quieted it down. One of my cars he suggested changing the fluid, and added an extra spike of limited slip additive. That worked, too, then the 8s came later.
