I been having this problem with the car not wanting to start. I have to give it gas and fight with it to get it to start, but once started it runs great. I have tried about everything to fix the problem. I found a book on how to repair a LS1 Corvette at a local bookstore. It said that the Coolant Sensor can cause hard starting along with many other things. Has anyone on here have had this problem and know how fix it? Thanks, RS99SS

Hello! It is possible that the problem is the CTS. However, what you really need to do is hook up a scanner or find somebody with Auto-tap, or something like it, and look at all of the sensors and see what the readings are. It is even possible for a problem to exist, but a code may not always set. If you dont have access to a scanner, then I would suggest you take it to your local repair shop, and at least have the pcm scanned, and have them diagnose the car for you. I just hate it when people throw parts at cars.
Also, you say it runs fine after it starts, but my guess is that it really doesn't. The computers on modern cars are so good at covering up problems, that usually people dont even realize that its not running correct! I see it all the time when people have to go through emissions testing, and it fails. They usually tell me that there is nothing wrong, but we always find a problem with something.
Keep in mind, if your car does have a problem, its possible it could have been that way for awhile, and may have even damaged a cat converter. I am not doggin' on you, just trying to help a fellow F-bod person!

I agree with Steve,it may have a bad coolant temp sensor. Get a scanner on it and check for any stored codes and look at tps, coolant temp.

Thanks guys, for your help I believe it's the Engine Coolant Temperture (ECT) sensor also. I seen others on here, that have had the same problem with their cars. Just whated to hear other peoples opinion on the matter.
I found out that I need to check the shift value of the ECT sensor and the Intake Air Temperture(IAT) sensor. They should be 5*F degrees(3*C) of each other. If they are not replace the ECT.
I been wanting to get a diagnostic scan tool for some time now, this makes a good reason to buy one. Again thanks guys for your help. RS99SS
