My 1997 30th Anniversary SS has "Z28SS" molded on the front edge of the air filter box/housing.. most all other 97s I've seen, as well as the pictures in the 97 SLP owners manual supplement show "Camaro SS" molded on this piece. Did the 96's say Z28SS? Could mine have bee changed at some point, or do some say Z28SS and others say CamaroSS? Just curious.
PS... car was built 9/96 and is SLP#0387, Anniversary build #50

All 96 SS’s have the “Z28SS” airbox. Some of the early model 97 SS’s (which your baby is) received some 1996 leftovers. No biggie, just SLP using up their inventory.
