Well after looking for my first job for a year, I found one... I am going to work for the navy (as a civilian)...in Newport, Rhode Island . Maybe I will meet some of you all. Guess I shouldn't be a stranger much anymore...Hope to meet some of ya.

I will start in mid January.
Any advice?
I plan on ordering an 2002 f-body in July /August range.
What is snow? Guess I will have to deal with it and learn what it is.

1. Lot's of layers
2. Work hard
3. Results count
4. Never turn in less than your best work, never turn in unfinished work.
5. The secret is not doing what you like to do, but liking what you have to do - find ways to do it better, make it a challenge.
6. Have fun

You might want to get a beater for winter driving.

Any advice? Get a spell check dictionary and use it. Proof read everything you do. Some of us old-timers are not impressed by reports and correspondence that is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. You're "exiting" Florida No flame intended

What is snow? It's all the white stuff in the picture. Christmas isn't Christmas without it.

Possum...LOL I just realized the mistake in the title. I didn't catch it initially.
Thank you all for the info.

Is it a nice area to live in? Can someone please tell me what it is like living in New England. Is it like a mustangville usa (I hope not) where every car is a mustank? Florida is like it baaaaaaadly.

Well I find out the specs next week.
I will keep ya posted when I am headed up there.
all I need know is an apartment or condo (place to live at) that has the following

1. Allows dogs (a must)
2. Enclosed garage

From what little I have seen, their is mostly carports at best or parking lots. I am still investigating.

Happy new year and stay safe

Good Luck SS Buff. We are about 6 hours from you. Maybe a few of us can visit you next year!!!!

I have some relatives in Con. & RI. It's cold in the winter that is all I can say especially if you are a southern person!!!

Buy boots & keep jumper cables handy for the old cars........

Like they have all said be4 me,
  • Lottsa (clothing) layers in the winter.
  • Get a beater to drive in the winter.
  • and jumper cables included in a winter survival kit.
  • What Hawkeye and DaddySS said re: work.

Also,
Request a Sunday Edition of the paper where your headed to. It'll list Apts & housing, food prices, local events, area events, phone numbers to local Gov't offices and a whole lot of other info.

Here's the State of R.I., and for Newport, R.I.

The Spring/Summer/Fall seasons more than make up for the somewhat harsh winters that can happen there. And its only for a couple of months, if that.

If ya drive up and you can stop for a meal on your way thru the MD/DC/VA area, give me a call, and maybe some of us (MAFBA) can meet up with ya.(301) 253-6663.

Good luck.

ps - the term 'exiting' in the title, does fit your post, by the way.
