I guess it depends on what you consider rare but - both of us should be included in the 1572 convertibles out of 8912 SS's.
And by the way, enjoy your car! What color, options did you get?

Wow... You guys have nice options, particularly like the heated seats. Didn't know the SS offered that.
Love the SS Sleigh...cool (cold) shot.
Wonder if you folks had problems with your SS. I had taken my car into the dealer about 2 days (69 miles) after buying it for front-end alignment and wheel balancing because of shimmy problem at 50+ mph.
Dealership is ordering me 4 new tires....they said the tires are defective and "out of round tolerance". Anyone else have this problem?

Joe, Take your car to an independant frame shop that does not sell tires and have your alignment checked. Dealers can't seem to get alignments right and tire shops have a vested interest in your tires wearing out.
Sounds to me like someone at the dealership has found a way to get a free set of tires.
Did you get the optional SLP rims? If so, then SLP aligned your front end. My 2K SS is the only new car I have bought that was delivered in good alignment.

Hi Joe! Welcome to the SS Ragtop family! I also have a 2000 SS Convertible. I wouldn't really say they are all that rare but I don't see many in my area. Most of the SS around here are T-top cars.

Where was the vibration coming from? The front or the back? Alignment on these cars are very good unless hit or curbed. Tire imbalance???????? I dunno.

You sound much like me!! I didn't know what SLP was either when I bought my SS off the lot. SLP is the company that takes the car from GM and changes the hood, suspension and adds any other SLP options like the wheels, key fobs, plaque, mats, suspension, etc. They are a great company and can be credited with bringing back the SS. They also do the Firbebird Firehawk. Posts: 5946 | From: Litchfield, NH, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

Damn, I do have SLP goods. "Street Legal Performance"...Love it!! Great stuff. Thanks to all for the info.
Yeah, DanA, it is a tire imbalance problem. Dealership tells me the tires are out of round (not within the tolerance to get a correct tire balance)...Hey, I will take a new set of tires.
The vibration is noticeable to me only at higher speeds..not bad below 60 mph.
