This is a funny topic. My neighbors probably think I'm nuts for not driving my SS all the time. My daily driver used to be an '81 Olds 88 and now my current one is an '85 Buick Riviera. Both a little rusty but ran/run well. I'll sacrifice a little "cool" for the ability to preserve my SS. Many many years from now when everybody elses 2000 SS looks like crap, mine will still look and smell new.

Ahh..the beater car.... Mine's a 1985 Chevy Celebrity with a 2.5L 4 banger that just turned over 190k miles today!
This car is pretty bad, but the price was right....my brother GAVE it to me after he bought a '99 Sunfire I drove my '96 Formula in the winter, and I don't want to subject my 'Hawk to the same winter horrors...
