Would it be possible to work on a group purchase for these?

I believe they are made by this guy. http://www.f-bodyconcepts.com

He offered a gp once for around 150 for the unpainted fiberglass.

Do they all have to be the same, or can some be carbon fiber?

They make carbon fiber rail covers. Its too expensive for me. I'm planning to buy the '97s for around $50..fill the gaps with epoxy, sand down and paint to match my car.

I'm going to order one tomorrow but if there's enough interest I'll head up a group purchase. I'll need at least 5 other people though.....

Hey SStylez,

Try to hold off on ordering those. I'd like to see if we can get a group purchase. Count me in on a GP under several conditions.

1) Can we get the price low enough on the carbon fiber ones...like closer to the unpainted fiberglass ones...

2) Will there be any issues with installing these along with a Hotchkis STB? I have seen pics of these with the BMR STB and clearance is very minimal, but I haven't seen any pics with the Hotchkis.

3) Are these guaranteed to fit a 2001 with no modifications?

...mod madness has gotten out of control and I don't even have my damn SS yet.

Hey I'm with you, my SS hasn't even been built yet(TPW 1/29/01) and I've already got waaaaaay to many mods. I'm with you though on the Hotchkis STB because I have one waiting to be installed too. I'll call tomorrow and see if they can answer some of those questions.....

I believe XTROOPER has these rail covers and the Hotchkis. Check his site though.

Hey SStylez,

Any luck with contacting f-bodyconcepts about these? I would like to formalize a group purchase here and get the ball rolling.

Some of the prevailing things we need to find out:

1) Can we mix the carbon fiber kits with the fiberglass ones in the GP?

2) How many orders do we need?

3) What price can we get?

4) What years will these fit?

I tried calling when I had some free time but no answer so I sent them an e-mail. As soon as I hear anything I'll let you know. I'll try and call them again tomorrow.....

I've e-mailed him questions before and he's pretty good about answering. You should be hearing back soon. He did a GP at LS1.com a little while ago, and I don't know what the painted ones went for, but the carbon fiber were $200.00 per set. He said that no trimming is needed, but that was for my 1998. I don't know about 2000+.
