They make carbon fiber rail covers. Its too expensive for me. I'm planning to buy the '97s for around $50..fill the gaps with epoxy, sand down and paint to match my car.

I'm going to order one tomorrow but if there's enough interest I'll head up a group purchase. I'll need at least 5 other people though.....

Hey SStylez,
Try to hold off on ordering those. I'd like to see if we can get a group purchase. Count me in on a GP under several conditions.
1) Can we get the price low enough on the carbon fiber ones...like closer to the unpainted fiberglass ones...
2) Will there be any issues with installing these along with a Hotchkis STB? I have seen pics of these with the BMR STB and clearance is very minimal, but I haven't seen any pics with the Hotchkis.
3) Are these guaranteed to fit a 2001 with no modifications?

Hey I'm with you, my SS hasn't even been built yet(TPW 1/29/01) and I've already got waaaaaay to many mods. I'm with you though on the Hotchkis STB because I have one waiting to be installed too. I'll call tomorrow and see if they can answer some of those questions.....

I believe XTROOPER has these rail covers and the Hotchkis. Check his site though.

I tried calling when I had some free time but no answer so I sent them an e-mail. As soon as I hear anything I'll let you know. I'll try and call them again tomorrow.....

I've e-mailed him questions before and he's pretty good about answering. You should be hearing back soon. He did a GP at LS1.com a little while ago, and I don't know what the painted ones went for, but the carbon fiber were $200.00 per set. He said that no trimming is needed, but that was for my 1998. I don't know about 2000+.
