Anybody a J.R. Tolkien Lord Of the Rings fan?
Starting 2001,thru 2003 they are coming out with movies! Looks lke they are doing a REAL good job..

Used to be. It started w/ the Hobbit in 3rd grade, then I read LOR over the summer after that. I even did a report on Tolkien in 7th grade where I had to act like him . . .

Haven't kept up since.

Wasn't there a movie back in the early 80's on the "Lord of the Rings".... Think I remember recording on my BETA vcr back then. Wonder if I still have it somewhere? Hmmmmm!

I hope they do a good job. Previous attempts have been rather weak.

Modern special effects should be up to the task.

I know of an animated version of the Hobbit.

BTW, I've seen the trailers for the new movies, and it looks VERY promising.

The animated version was by Ralph someone-or-another, the same guy that brought us Fritz The Cat. It was bloddy awful..
