Winter Weather Statement for Hillsboro, OR Statement as of 10:47 am PST on February 8, 2001
...Snow Advisory Continues For Today And Tonight In The Greater Portland Vancouver Area... A Snow Advisory continues for today and tonight for the greater Portland and Vancouver area. Up to an inch of snow is possible today below 500 feet...with 1 to 2 inches possible above 500 feet. Occasional light snow is expected to spread across the area today... with light snow expected at times tonight. An additional 1 to 2 inches is possible tonight above 500 feet... with up to an inch below 500 feet. Rain may mix in at the lowest elevations at times.
That's a whole INCH of accumulation possible. It's absolute mayhem around here when it happens. All the television stations go on full alert and give round the clock coverage. All the schools are on snow routes or are closing. http://www.kgw.com/weather/schoolclosures.html It's completely ridiculous!
Now Dan & Grace have SNOW! They can't even find their submarine if it needs to be re-filled this winter!

The Des Moines area is getting ready for a real storm . . . we already have ice all over the place, and we're supposed to get great amounts of snow starting tomorrow morning. My night classes have been cancelled.
