I have a 96 SS, 6 spd, T tops, aluminum drive shaft, under 8000 miles. No leather, or torsion. I am still weighing the options of trading for a new Vette. However the dealer only wants to give me $13,000.00 for it. Right now it doesn't seem like these cars are bringing much $$. do yo ufeel they will be worth any/much more down the road. What would be a good asking price if I was trying to sell it outright? Thanx!

Same situation, my 2000 SS has only 1200 miles on the odom and I have a Z-06 on the way. I know the dealer will laugh me right off the lot when I tell him what I want for the SS. My 98' almost had to give it away. Posts: 251 | From: Dallas, Georgia usa | Registered: May 2000

...the problem is that these cars are still in production, and a lot of people would rather spend a few more bucks and get a new one than to buy a used one with an uncertain history. Once they quit making the f-bodies, though, the only way someone who wants an SS, Firehawk or WS6 will be able to get one will be to buy a used one and to look for one in excellent condition...and they will command a higher price.
I've seen some Impala SSs around here sold for pretty close to what they were new, and the Buick GNs in excellent condition still command a premium price. Like everything else, it's all a matter of supply and demand...

I would agree with Jimbo...supply and demand...and certain SS's will be worth more...for instance, the last one! And the 30th anniversary...and certain colors...hugger and so on...and also. my personal feeling is the fully equipped...I mean SLP cars...will be worth more...especially M6 with leather!
