It was a hard decision to make, but I said goodbye to my 1998 Camaro 1LE SS this past week. I will still get visitation rights because I sold her to my brother-in-law, who, I'm sure, will treat her well. I have never gotten the chance to post a picture of this SSOA registered beast because it is not posted on any websites, but I do have great pictures of this this rare f-body (1 of 3 1LE SS's made in 1998) from the 2000 Camaro Super-fest in Ann Arbor, MI. ...but there is a silver lining to this sad story. I have just obtained another 1998 Camaro SS, but, of course, without the 1LE option. I just got it shipped in from Camarillo, CA. She's a beut'. Here is the lowdown on it: '98 Camaro SS Blue; w/ grey leather interior M6; T-Tops; Single Chrome Performance Exhaust.
I also have pictures of the newbie, but unfortunately, I can't post it because it is not yet on a web site.

Well, there's a couple of things that made me trade from the 1LE SS to the SS. First of all, the stiffer suspension was not in the right environment. Living in Detroit, MI really has taken it's toll on the suspension (and on me...I felt like I was in a paint shaker). I have had the 1LE in for warranty work 5 times to fix suspension problems, (for any of you that have driven in MI, you know what I mean) in addition to the problems I have been having with the drivetrain (new trans and rebuilt rear end). Also, I like the t-tops in comparison to the hardtop. Finally, knowing I had a rare car, I wanted to keep it fully stock, but I became restless and wanted to modify it. (possibility of modifying some calibrations in the PCM in addition to non-bolt on mods).
