Took daughter out for second and final SCCA road race school last weekend. It was friggin' cold and rainy at Summit Point, WV. but we survived.
She passed the school and got her license, as well as a first place trophy for the school. No, she doesn't drive a F-body. but a proud Papa's got to brag somewhere.
Oh, the car's a 75 Toyota Corolla capable of 1.34 lap times. Race prepared Camaros do about 1.30 on the two mile circuit.

We're headed to North Carolina this weekend to meet a guy with some "trick" but legal parts for the car. Next outing for the car is April 28-29 at Summit Point for the first "real" race of the season.
Ol' Grumpy's been workin' every available hour since January getting the car ready. Haven't been doin' the boards too much.
I am hoping to make some event down your way before then, but just in case, I am in for Lime Rock for sure. I will be bringing my "other" car. You and Mike wil have to take it around the track. I would really love to see what it can do with someone that knows how to drive.
Looking forward to it my paisan. I think it is fabulous that you are spending all your free time on Alicia's car. You are a lucky guy to have the same passion for something as your children! Now get done with hers, so we can do one for me. I will be your "other" son.

If the NASA event at Carolina Motorsorts Park is cancelled, I will be at SLP day in joisey.
Low turnout so far. Its too far for most to travel. (South Carolina). 50-50 shot so far. Usually a lot of last minute signups.
Lime Rock for sure!!!!!
Try to come down for one of the NASA events at Summit Point. Also maybe one of Alicia's races??? Apr 28-29, Jun 16-17, Jul 14-15, Aug 18-19, Sep 1-3. You can stay at my house and/or camper.
I'll build a greasemobile for you whenever you want, son.
By the way, Alicia gave her first place trophy to me, just for helping out.

Congratulations to Alicia! That's awesome. Hey let me ask you something la Grumpa.....Were there any "agricuture trips?" I just couldn't resist. That'll be great if you guys could make it to SLP day. Dan, I and a bunch will be traveling down together. It's going to be a blast! I'll be making it to Limerock as well this year. I can't wait to take the SS to the track. I have a few mods ready to go in next week. I'm looking foward to turning a few laps with ya again. Posts: 1413 | From: Wappingers Falls,NY | Registered: Jun 2000
