Could this also be the future of the F-body? If so I say Yay, I think? While it is not a pure rear wheel drive, imagine what some good ole detroit V8 power will do with a very light AWD system?

It sure would be nice, but AWD systems are expen$ive like you wouldn't believe, are prone to easy breakage, and cost a mint to repair. I can't imagine why they wouldn't keep the rear layout that it's had for 35 years, and maybe just shorten the car (other than the fact that only car nuts like ourselves enjoy how easy it is to break the rear loose and have fun with hte car).
I think a dramatic restyle with the same front engine/rear drive combo marketed as an entry-level 'Vette would be ideal....maybe with that 302 engine like in the 302 Concept. That would be nice....but it's all just speculation at this point.

While AWD would be nice, if I had to guess they wouldn't use a nice big V8 with it. They'd probably do what every one else does and use a souped up 6 (maybe Supercharged or something like everyelse is getting into).
Personally, I'll be kind of bummed out. I'm kind of a purist and I like the big engine, rear drive configuration. You can do those fun things like burn outs and power slides better than with an AWD system.

While the Diablo has a big engine and is AWD, it is very expensive. The 911 TT uses Porsche's boxer 6 (if I remember right) with twin-turbos and is also very expensive. I could buy about 4 Camaro SS convertibles for the price of one of those babies. While there's no doubt that those are some of the best handling and fastest cars around, I like the Camaro for what it is. Rear wheel drive and big engine (not as refined). As far as the engine size, I read an article recently that was speculating that they would probably go with a 6-cyl. If they still used an 8, that would be great, but we'll have to wait and see I guess. That's just my take on it.

While the idea of having all of those cars being produced sound great to me, I am still a strong believer in releasing a new generation of F-bodies based on a retro-1st gen look. That is what Ford has done with the Mustang and look what it has done for them!
