I put the SS hood and 96-97 style spoiler(or Mecham spoiler, if I have the $) on my Z? FYI - I would NEVER, EVER put SS badges on i, near it, or by it, and NEVER try to pass it off as one.

Thanks for your opinions

Hmm, similar conversation going on the other board. heheh. I will stick to my guns. You could take every part that goes into making a SS and install it on a Z28 and as long as you don't put the SS badges on it you are not a poser.

The only reason for putting SS or WS6 badges on a car would be to deceive people into thinking it's a bonifide SS or WS6.

We don't have hate here!! My opinion and that is all it is, is that you can do wahtever you want. If it were me, I would not put the SS badges on. I would be proud that I had modded the Z28 to my likes and it is still a Z28.
If you are putting the hood and spoiler it would be for looks, right?? What about wheels and tires? Good luck with whatever you decide. It's your car and your money. We will still love you.

If you read it, it states my opinion on the badges VERY clearly.

That is so sweet! A very good looking car that's for sure. And to get a pic of it on the track of all tracks. (sigh) I just hope to be able to sit in the stands at Indy during the big race someday.

Hey - it's your car dude - do what YOU want with it. We're all here to help each other. The sentiment would be against passing it off as an SS if it wasn't.

What other reason would there be for putting the SS badges on a car? He said he would never do it. If I could come up with a reason for putting SS or WS6 badges on a car, other than trying to pass it off as something it's not then I might and I stress the word might change my opinion. And yes it's just an opinion nothing more. We all have the right to have them.

Hoods, spoilers, etc. are like any other mod, designed to change appearance or performance, and we think that's great. Badges are designed to change the name or model and that's not good.
