Has anyone else tried the new Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs ?

I heard they help with the rumble at idle. I have a 2000 SS Vert with 5004 miles on it, and it idles with a bit of a shake then smooths out, then shakes...this is ongoing.
Was told this is normal for this engine, but heard these plugs help smooth out the run of the engine.

Anyone try these plugs???

Are they the ones with the 4 prongs?

I've heard that the ones with the four prong things really suck and to stay as far away from them as possible.

I've heard many times to stay away from Platinum plugs... I use NGK TR5 plugs and have been very happy with them so far.

I ordered the Platinum NGK's from Carparts but they were out of them so they sent me the Iridium. I put them in about 500 miles ago and they have been good so far.

Joe,

I can only tell you my experience with Bosch 4's platinum plugs on my LT1 Z28. I have used them for approximately 50k miles and the car has been run very hard; on the street and at the strip. I have had no problems and an improved performance over my original copper plugs (mileage and etceteras).

I currently use the NGK TR55ix's like Dan was writing about and those iridium plugs are also very good and do help remove the shakes and lurches of the motor. I also replaced my stock wires with MSD 8.5mm super conductor wires. I measured the MSDs at 27 to 28 ohms, while the O.E. wires measured at 347 ohms.

Good luck!

Berry III,

Interesting.
The shakes and lurches really bother me, and to know you reduced that with the changes, encourages me.

Thank you!
