Well it's been one week now with the new beast and all I can really say is WOW. I have never been so impressed with a car in my life. The Bilstein suspension is unbelievable and it does lower the car slightly contrary to what "some people" say. The dual dual exhaust sounds great. Quiet with a slight rumble when I want it and noisy when I open her up. I have been fairly gentle with the SS, I shift between 2K and 2.5K. Last night we went for a cruise and did some shifting around 3.5K, boy does she roar, I can't wait for 5K shifts. The only flaw I have found is that the single CD player will not play some of my older CD's, I do not know why. That's it so far, have a fantastic day and I will keep you all posted.

Ahh - now you get it. Now go and have some fun. I'd expect you'll get pinned back in your seat at about 4800 by this weekend.
I don't know how you held off. I hit 5500 on the way home from the dealership!!
According to Jeff Y - ALL engines are redlined at the factory on natural gas to check them before they are installed in the cars. That was enough for me!

Don't be too gentle...that's not good either. You can take her up gently to 3500-3700, better for your break-in.

Great to see another happy SS pilot on the blacktop... You'll find the gas mileage improves after about 10,000 miles or so...also, they seem to run better after that...just my impression...and from some others I've talked to...
Enjoy!
P.S. Love the color...might be my choice the next time.

Welcome to the dream. Quite frankly, you own the best F-body ever built. Don't worry so much about the tachometer, it's those pesky law enforcement officers doing their jobs that you have to be aware of. I try to limit my roaring to sparse traffic on long limited access highways. The occasional back road helps the soul as well, but be wary of others when doing so... that's the challenge. Have fun!
