I just got in the mail my Pro 5.0 shifter for my SS. The thing is that they sent me directions for a Mustang install. It looks funny to me. The arm of the shifter is bolted on the right side??? And it is angled that way............Like if you picture our shifter now in 5th gear.......thats what it loks like now.....I am wondering if I got to switch it around??? On the side of the box it says for 93 and up camaro/firebird T56 transmissions. I am lost. Please help????
Thanks

I have YET to miss a shift going from 2 to 3. Before I did it ALOT. I got hung up between gears. UGH!! Even though Lou's Short Stick helped, it wasn't enough for me. Doug
Yikes - I took this off the slp board, looks like doug has the 5.0

Yikes, It's a piece of cake. Look at the shifter it can only go one way. It always wants to go into 3rd. If you look at the base of the shifter the lettering will be facing you. After you install just adjust the stop bolts and lok tight them in. I adjusted mine in third gear and then backed the stop bolt out 1 turn.

Well I just installed it yesterday and the where it is stamped "Pro 5-0" on the base is upside down. I tryed to put it where Pro 5-0 was readable but it just didn't look like it would go in that way. So I flipped it around and it just fell into place. I guess I have it upside down???? It's working fine right now. All 6 gears.

One more thing Y2K SS. What side is your handled bolted to the base on???? If you are looking down at the shifter from the drivers seat is it bolted on the right side or the left. When it came shipped to me in the box it was bolted on the right side but that looks way off to me. Maybe it's me????

Thanks for your help!

YikeSS, I'm almost positive that the bolts to the handle go in from the left. Also make sure you put a little Lok Tite on the handle bolts, because they will work themselves out.
