Welp ... all the parts I collected over winter are on the car now ... Figure plugs and wires should be next ... will have 30,000 miles by the time I get back from Milan and the Dyno man at IndY2K suggested the wires were suspect ... even though the horsepower didn't show it.
What's recommended?? Based on what I've found searching around, at this moment NGK TR55VX plugs and Magnecor wires would be the choice.

the TR-55's seem to be the popular choice. Any good wire is better than the stockers. I put on MSD Superconductor 8.5's this weekend. Magnecore, MSD, Taylor, Accel, and Jacobs all make good wires. The MSD's were only $50. Install wasn't bad. Just watch #8!! It's a doozy!

Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems obviously wasn't driving an SS.

What Mark said, I have TR-55's also with Magnecore wires for over a year now and have no problems what so ever. Engine seems to run smoother NOW that all the plugs are gapped all the same..... When I pulled the old plugs out no two plugs were gapped the same. The range of gap went from .040 to .075 You'll see a big difference with new plugs and wires.

I have the NGK's as well. They are the Iridium one. I haven't changed my wires yet, but the more I read, the more I am moving towards changing them
Have fun changing number 8!! I am sure you have seen the suggestions floating around. There is some good advice.
Good luck

I'm also running NGK TR55VX platinum plugs, I also am running stock wires, :^( will soon be getting Magnicore wires. Everyone is right about the stock plugs, my gaps were way off, and some of the pucks weren't even there.
