I was just wondering if anything more had come about making the SSOA sun shade. I'm using mine everyday & it would look really great to have a huge SSOA logo in the middle of it. Plus I need one that fits better than the one I've got. What do you think Teri?

I'd go for it! Even though she doesn't sit in the sun much!

Ya, I'm in too. I made some inquiries around town regarding customized sunshades, but nobody did that kind of stuff. Hopefully others have better luck than me!

Here's what I've been able to get from one of my sources: "Canvas Works, who makes the Heatshields, does offer custom silk screening. They generally only make one color though, as the process is a bit more complicated with several colors. They could "possibly" use two colors. I noticed your SSOA logo uses red, white & blue. They also require a minimum order of 40 to do the silk screening. Cost would be $35 (rather than $29.50), plus about $4-$5 shipping. Their sample Heatshield has a lot of black writing on it and it does look good. It isn't a sticker or vinyl, it is actually inked into the silver top part of the Heatshield.
If you think you would have 40 interested and could come up with an all black logo, I think we could get them produced pretty quick. Other option would be to go with a generic "Camaro SS" wording so we would have other Camaro sources for selling them to owners who might not be part of the SSOA. If we went that way then we would only need about 20 commitments from SSOA members so we aren't sitting on a lot of inventory."

Either way, I'm in. I need one that covers the entire dash like the one pictured above. How about "Camaro SS" in black authentic lettering with a different colored outline. Would it be possible for each individual person to pick their outline color, like red, blue etc? SLP Engineering logo like Scott's stickers would look great too. I'm sure we could really sell a lot of them over on that board.
Thanks for checking into this Teri.

The more I think about it, the more I like the SLP Engineering logo idea. We could make two different ones, just like Scott's sticker. One with a red outline & one with a white outline. That way, we would be marketing to both SS & Firehawk owners with a color combination that would work for everyone. What does everyone think?

I'm in as well! I would personally also prefer the Camaro SS or SSOA (nothing against SLP, it's just that advertising Super Sport seems cooler to me).

I agree with perhaps having the SLP, because no one else has that...it's like the SVT on Mustangs...it's only on select performance vehicles...a cut above...it would seem to me that there could be a sponsor lurking out there with the visibility these would have!
But I'm in either way!

Okay guys, I've heard back from Deanne at afterthought auto & it looks like this. I don't think that there is anyway to get any multi-color logos silk-screened on, so the only option would be a plain black logo. Plus, the company who would be doing the silk screening might have some licensing issues with GM & SLP. However, Deanne has tried taking a large, high quality decal & placing it on the heatshield. She said that it stuck extremely well even after she rolled up the heatshield time & time again. She's going to let it sit out in the sun all day today to see what difference that will make. If it's still holding up well, then that might be the route to go, in which case we could all order our own custom fit heatshield then put whatever decals we wanted on it. It just depends on who can come up with what. Maybe Scott Goldsmith could check into seeing what it would cost to get his same decal except 6-8 times bigger. Maybe Teri has a contact that will be able to help us with an SSOA logo. I'll let everyone know what I find out. Here's the address for everyone to check out. www.afterthoughtsauto.com

Okay, this got a little worse. I went to a local sign shop to see what it would cost to get the SSOA logo made into a 3' long sticker & it came to $60. I wasn't really planning on spending that kind of money on a sun shade. So, unless anyone has some suggestions, I'm just going to order the plain one & live with it.

I think in black writing "Camaro SS" would be fine for most everyone with an SS. And I bet you could sell alot of them on the SLP message board, as well as LS1, etc, etc.

I talked to Shay yesterday and am working on getting the SSOA logo silk screened on. The original quote was $30 for the logo (in color and at least 30 orders). The total cost would be about $70 with shipping. I have ordered one of the shades from www.afterthoughtsauto.com. As soon as it comes in I am going to get a demo. I am still not sure if they will be able to get the ink to hold as I was not sure of the material. Anyway, I will post pics as soon as I get it done.

Sounds like a great idea. I would pay a premium to go to 3 color color SSOA.

I got the sun shade in the mail on Friday. I will try (very busy at work) to take it in to see if they can print on the material. I will also get detailed pricing info. Stay tuned.
