As the saying goes: "Long time listener, first time caller". I've had my 1st SS for a whopping 16 days now, but have followed them for years. I'm really enjoying my new ride, but am laughing alot more as I watch other people interact with the car.
In that short time, I've categorized other drivers into the following. I'm sure I'll have more to come.
1.) Wow! Its an SS - I know what that's all about (maybe not). It looks cool, so I'll stare.
2.) Uh oh, its an SS - Mine's an old Z28/Monte Carlo/Impala/Taurus/etc, so I'll be cool and not provoke a race to the next light.
3.) Grrr, its an SS (dumb) - I can beat that with my old Z28/Celica/Civic/Grand Marquis/Golf/Impreza/PICKUP TRUCK!!!/etc, so I'll floor it and show him a thing or 2.
4.) Grrr, its an SS (not so dumb) - I can beat it with my M3/Z3/Lexus/Infiniti/Mercedes/etc, uh oh - I'm exceeding the speed limit now and he's beating me anyway, I'll just slow down.
5.) Grrr, its an SS (Mustang owner) - I'll fool him into thinking I'm not racing and then floor it at the last minute so it LOOKS like I beat him to the next light.
People never cease to amaze me. I'm not by any means saying I'm out racing everything that pulls up next to me, in fact very much the opposite (I'm old, have a career, wife, kids, mortgage, lawn, you know). But this is really amusing.
Am I kidding myself?
Cheers.

I'm old too - but still like to hit it once in a while.
I enjoy the people who say - "you sure that's from the factory that way? I've never seen one before"
I think - great advertising GM

Well I think I'm older than Hawkeye and maybe INDY SS and yes I have the same "Wife, Kids, Mortgage, Lawn......." and I still get on it. Just the other day I asked my son (9) if I should lay down some rubber, and he said "it was my call" hahaha going to have to watch him more carefully? Seems to be a chip off the old block.

Good to hear from you INDYSS. I'm sure I'm older than all of you--but the blood still starts pumping. I won't be coming to the Brickyard this year. The guy I make the trip with(who grew up in Indianapolis) just had a stroke. Maybe next year. Jerry

I'm in the same demographic, and I'll never stop enjoying the reasons why I bought mine in the first place-looks and performance!(albeit safely, of course)
