My service engine soon lite came on! I only have 700 miles on the car! It also seems hard to get into reverse! What happened?? I havent abused anything lately, but i did have a stereo installed by Circuit city last week. Hmmmm, What could be the problem! Can anyone help me? I have only done one engine mod, which is not complete, i put a K&N filter in and the SLP Lid is on the way, but not installed yet. HELP! I hate those silly little lights!

Those silly lights come in handy to tell you when something is wrong. I suspect your MIT-trained Circuit City "technicians" crossed a wire somewhere when they did your installation. You're going to have to take it to your dealer for a diagnosis, unless, of course, you want to take the car back to Circuit City....

By the way, all of these cars are hard to get into reverse. My cure for that was to install a B&M Ripper shifter, which is one of the best upgrades I've done.

that could be, but, the car didnt come home that way. I would have suspectd it if the light was on when i drove off, but I didnt notice it until today, four days later. How do I reset it? can i unplug the battery? I know its a false alarm, i just dont want to stare at it for the next 900 miles until my scheduled maint call.!

I knocked off a vacuum line while trying to install my Fuel Rail Covers. It took a couple of days for the SES light to come on. After it cae on, i found the problem. I put it back on and took it to the dealer to have it reset. They looked it over and found nothing wrong. They reset the SES and I was on my way. BTW, I never let my car leave my sight at the dealership. Have it checked out and if you are confident that there are no problems...just have it reset.
Also, my car is hard to get into reverse as well. However, I can always tell when it goes into gear. i usually just mess with it and it finally goes in.

thanks Amy, yea i know what you mean. I have reset the light by the two methods that other SS owners have told me about, but Im afraid that it keps coming back on! Im sure its somthing really minor, but I dont want to stare at that little light for the next 600 miles until the nei definately wont let it out of my sight at the dealership!
