... pulled 2.1** 60 foot times on 5 of 9 runs with a best of 2.118 which is a huge improvement for me.

Best 1/8 was 8.912 @ 80.887, also a personal best.

It was hot (mid to hi 80's), humid and into a 25 mph headwind.

Stopped accellerating at about 85 mph to keep my 1/4 mile e.t.'s above 14 seconds. (need a rollbar in the ragtop)

Prep for the day included:
* running the F1's "backwards"
* installed a 160 stat and used HPP fan and power programming

I didn't spin the tires at all before the runs. Started with 24 lbs of pressure and worked my way down to 20. Best time was at 22 lbs.

Now the question is: Do I get a rollbar

Sounds like they're pretty strict! My runs have been so bad they wouldn't have to worry, but I have run 13s without any hassles.

Hey Art - sounds like you're perfecting your technique.

You sure about that roll bar into the 14's?

It would be nice to see what you really can run - maybe just once on your final run of the day

13.99 or faster NHRA rules call for a rollbar ... and a bunch of less onerous stuff on the ragtop ... our track goes strictly by the book ... discussed it with their tech inspectors to make sure.

Horsepower TV installed a 6-point rollbar in a their 4-gen project Camaro. Looked light weight and very easy to install (bolted assembly - no welding). It didn't seem to affect getting in a out of the car.

I'd go for the bar.

John
