Hi everyone. Just a note to let the group know that we have now received our final demo of the custom fit leather shift boot we have been working on with Wheelskins. The fit is great and installation is easy. It even has the slits pre-cut in the leather to fit over the retainer ring tabs. It is available in the same 11 colors as their steering wheel covers. Here is a sample picture. Sorry it isn't in a car yet....the SS we use for testing is in the shop.
If you order one, put a note in the comments section of your order that you are an SSOA member and we'll give you $4.00 off (regularly $44.00).
The color of our picture is not the "torch red" of the Vette...but they do have the specific "torch red" available that matches the Vette. They mainly buy it for the custom C5 boot they make, but will let us order it for the Camaro boot. The leather costs a little more so they charge us $2.50 more on those. If you want one that color, just put a note in the comments field. They don't want us to offer it as a regular color for all the boots so it won't be on the site.

The body colored front end protection (bras) made for the C5 by Speed Lingerie would be soooo cool if they were also offered for the Camaro.
Ya wanna work on 'em for us?
You're the best!
(am I kissing up enough?)
Yeah!!! Saw a Pewter Bra on a Pewter Mallet C5 in Bowling Green ... I'd buy one for sure ... along with a browse through all your stuff ... not worth ordering 1 little thing for Canada ...
Please make sure they fit the SS hood properly though.

Yes, the bra would have to work with the SS hood......the one from GM needs some extra protection on the back side of it to keep it from rubbing the hoodscoop lines.
Art, If there's anything you'd like to order from Afterthoughts Auto, I don't mind if it's shipped to our house. I'd be happy to bring it to you in November at Bragg-Smith.

Hi Teri - We'll certainly check into the possibility of a colored bra for the SS. I know the GM one can be custom made to your exact color and we already have that available to us. I'm not sure if anything can be done about the hood scoop lines and the bra rubbing there since you need a tight fit on the sides of the hood to keep it from flapping.
BTW...we can ship most of our items to Canada. Small items can go Global Priority Mail for almost the same price as U.S. Priority Mail. Larger items go air mail or parcel post. Sometimes we have to get the item shipped to us and then reship it using U.S. Mail (for example..we have shipped an SLP exhaust to Canada this way) We won't ship to Canada using UPS because they charge outrageous brokerage fees. Just an FYI for the Canadian members. We'll try to help you.
Let us know how the white shift boot looks. You should receive it any day now.

Hi everyone. We finally got our test SS back from the shop and installed the shift boot. Thought I would provide you with a copy of the boot actually in a car! The picture above has now been replaced. Thanks.

Hi Deanne, Can you give me more info on the colored GM bra for the Camaro? Last year, all we could get was a black one from GM.
On the colored bras, they are made by Perfect Fit (they supply the regular ones to the dealers). Perfect Fit You can see pictures of their colored ones on this site. Our sales rep. says they take a long time because they are hand done and have a long curing process. At least 2-3 months, maybe longer. They will match your paint code. Anyway, we can order them but to tell you the truth you would be better ordering direct from them if you are interested. They charge us the same price so we would have to mark it up some to cover processing fees and all.
Other option is the 3M paint protection film. We do offer that in the store and it gives you a "clear bra". I asked our X-Pel sales rep. about the hood scoop lines and he didn't think the film would have a problem laying down over the small area that it would actually touch. You might want to check that out too. I wish I had put the hood piece on my Grand Prix. I have lots of white specks from some stones that I am not happy with. X-Pel 3M Paint Protection
Hope this helps.
