For those of you waiting on the hood scoop insert, we have an update. I spoke with the company doing them and they are almost finished. They plan to ship them back to us Friday using UPS 3-day. Typically when they ship on a Friday we receive the package Monday/Tuesday. So, if all goes on schedule we should start shipping orders on 10/24.

Please spread the word to others you know who ordered. I updated the web page but I'm not sure everyone checks there. I'll send a group email out once we receive them to let everyone know they are shipping. We are looking forward to getting these out. We also had a sample for the Trans Am made and are anxious to see those pieces as well (side air outlets and Ram Air grille pieces). Thanks to everyone who participated.

Well, since you guys will soon have your own chrome insert, I'll let the cat out of the bag. I was the proud recipient of the actual sample piece from Vaccuum Metalizing and Afterthoughts, about two weeks ago. I bribed Deanne with thousands of dollars to be the first to get one and she went for it!!Let me tell you, you wont be disapointed. It does have a slight orangepeel finish because of the OEM texture, but the chrome comes through loud and clear. I see people straining to see " what is that shiney thing in the hood scoop of that car!?" You guys will be as happy as a well f*cked hen when you get it! Have fun . be safe. Eric

Amy - yes I am getting another one. I bought one from the old GP and it has been on the car for several months. It looks great but has a couple chips in it so I thought I would replace it...these new ones will be nice because they are also going to be clear coated.

Thought I would just put an update here too...all inserts have shipped. Couple days past what I was hoping but it took a lot longer than I thought it would to pack up all those boxes.

Does anyone know if one with a broken tab will still stay in the opening? We pulled several "bad" ones out of the shipment (good thing we did some extras). The broken tab is either on the top right or bottom right. We had a few people hoping to get one of the extras and I don't know if it would do any good to offer them one with a broken tab, even at a discount for the flaw.

Deanne, I really can't say for sure but after removing my stock one and see how tight they fit I'd say as long as only one of the tabs is missing it will work. Probably would be a good idea to release only one of these and make sure it works, even better find an SS owner near you and make him a offer he can't refuse and see if it works. Just my .02 cents worth.

Thanks Al. I would try it on my brother's SS but it is in the shop again. I think he was a little hard on it at the last autocross and the transmission is acting up. Guess I'll wait until it returns from the dealer.

BTW...anyone local here in Dallas/Fort Worth with a Ram Air Trans Am or a 1993-97 Z28? We had a chrome sample made of the grilles for those models and would like to find someone willing to try them on and let us take pictures...
