I have one in my 2000 SS. In my opinion, the K&N Filter probably allows more air through the filter. However, the reason I am running the Amsoil filter is because I think it filters the air better. It keeps smaller dirt particles in the filter and out of my engine.
In addition, the construction of the Amsoil filter is such that is can be completely removed from the wire mesh for cleaning. Therefore, it can be cleaned better. I bet if you took an Amsoil filter and cleaned it and a K&N filter and cleaned it...the Amsoil would be cleaner in the end.
That's my opinion...others?

Thats kinda what I thought. I'll try it out anyway, I can always switch back to the K& N. The little demonstration with the fan and ping pong ball, sold me on the flow, but it wasnt a K&N he was comparing it to.
