The latest issue of Camaro World says that the local chapter that brings the most Camaros to the Bowling Green F-body B-day bash in September will receive a cash prize. There's a 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
The SSOA is a local chapter. Let's get as many SSOA members to attend so we can win that prize!
I have an idea as to what the money can be used for, but I'll wait to hear other ideas first.

I have question, probably a dumb one but I will ask. I am a member(joined 5-01) but I might be selling my SS in a few months then shortly after getting another Camaro(not an SS) does my membership end at the point when I sell my SS or not?
Thanks
Tom

Although I cannot commit in full, it is looking like a must as I will be in the Sierra Mtns for Michigan's Camaro Super Fest '02

Do a search for "Bowling Green" on this board and the SLP Message Board. You'll find links to information on the event and reports and pictures from the '01 event .... which will explain why we're so excited about doing it again.

Tom, As long as you have an SS, you are still a member. If you get another SS, I can print you a new Letter of Authenticity. If it's not an SS, it doesn't qualify for membership.

Already made reservations at a hotel. Might have 10 people from the Lehigh Valley Camaro Club going. The officers from the American Camaro Association will be there. Looking forward to taking my SS to the drag strip. Last year I had my 94 Z28 there. See you all there.

That is what I thought, thanks for the answer. Looks like in a few months when I sell it I won't be a member, hopefully you guys and gals won't look at me as any less of a person. I will not go with out a Camaro that I can't do because they are so much fun but the SS and trying to finish college just don't go well together. Maybe when I am ready for another SS in a few years there will be a 5th gen available.

Hey guys and gals...don't forget to invite our Firebird friends to the gathering also...the more, the merrier! (and besides, they need to see how a Camaro can be turned into a cruise missle!)
(did I mention that one of the major sponsors is Nabisco?) (Oreos????????????????) (heeheehee) (running, ducking, hiding)

You want me to take care of these guys for you?

We wouldn't want you to go away at all! What kind/color of Camaro are you getting?

Repairs on a 3rd Gen can get spendy. We've had to do a lot of work on our '90 IROC this past year. Seems like things started breaking all over the place once it got over 100K miles on it. It's a good thing we get parts at cost and Steve could do all of the labor on it or it would have sucked every spare $ out of our checkbook. There is an advantage to owning your own automotive repair business.
An early 4th Gen has it's share of problems too, including the famous intake leak and optispark issues. They can get expensive!
Make sure the headaches you take on from a used car don't end up costing you the same as monthly payments on the SS.
You might also take advantage of a local bank or Credit Union that will take over your current loan and extend it out a year to get your payments down. Our Credit Union recently offered a lower interest rate for loans transferred from other lenders.
Best of luck....I hope you can find a way to keep your SS!

This sounds very doable. My wife and I will be able to make it with the group. I will try and catch a group of people leaving out of Texas. Keep us informed.
