I just bought a power antenna and I want to add a switch so I can keep the antenna down when CD's are playing. Anybody out there with a good idea for a switch location that will either be hidden or look like factory original?

TIA

Mark.

If there is enough room, I would put it opposite the rear defog next to the fan control switch. Puts it in easy reach of the radio, and keeps it part of that cluster.

Or since yours is a coupe, buy the convertible top switch mounting plate(or make one) and put the switch in the top switch location at the front of the console..........easy to see and reach, yet out of the way.

I second this idea. I installed the power antenna on my car and just haven't gotten around to installing a switch. I plan on buying the mounting plate for the Firebird convertibles since they have cutouts for two switches (so I am told).

I would also like the idea of putting it next to the defroster switch if you could make it look factory installed.

It's actually not hard that hard to install...just a pain to remove the spare, squeeze into the trunk and see what you are doing.

See Wayne's (XBCHBM) write up on the install.

Put the switch somewhere in the ashtray area. Out of sight and very easy to get to!

I'm planning on installing a fan switch and it will go in the ashtray area.
